My washing machine at my house broke about 2 weeks ago and my dad came over to fix it for me. As soon as he tipped the washing machine back so he could get under it, Alex crawled underneath and looked inside (Don't worry, Dad saw him there and knew to be careful!) Well I handed Alex a little wrench and he put it up inside the washing machine and tried to fix it! It was so cute. When my Dad was working on the washing machine, Alex was down there the whole time helping. He loves his Grandpa so much! I'm glad he has such a good role model too!
I just wanted to post some newer pictures of my beautiful little niece. I got to babysit her one day last week so I took a few pictures. I see her all the time, but I don't always have the camera available. She's getting so big and she seems to be learing to do things already. She has been rolling over for a couple weeks now and she tries to sit up in her carseat. She's so darn cute!
After CAST for kids was over, some of my friends that had volunteered with us, Amanda and her boyfriend Randy, went fishing. They caught a ton of crawdads and they know I love to eat them so they brought them back for us. Alex was really interested in what was in the bucket so I took a crawdad out and took the claws off (I'm evil and I torture little Crawdads LOL) and let him play with it. HE LOVED IT! My dad was excited because Alex was actually acting like a boy and playing with the crawdad (cray fish.)
My mom is part of a committee each year that plans an event called CAST for kids. CAST stands for Catch A Special Thrill. It's where we take special needs children fishing. They all get to go out on a boat and go fishing for a couple of hours and then everyone has lunch. It's a lot of fun and believe it or not, A LOT of planning goes into it each year. My mom and the other women that put this together deserve HUGE awards for the work they do. I didn't get a lot of pictures so I'm not posting them this year but Alex and I had fun and Alex was pooped by the end of the day.
Last week a friend told me that she and her husband had free tickets to the zoo from his job and they wanted us to come. Then Alex's Grandma (his "father's" mom) said that she wanted to take us to the zoo on Tuesday so we went both Tuesday and Wednesday. On Monday night, Alex had a hard time going to bed so Tuesday was pretty rough for him and he was pretty cranky. It's probably a good thing we went again on Wednesday because he had a lot of fun and was able to be happy that day.
My dad finally talked my mom into letting him buy a 4 wheeler. I really think he needs it because when he goes hunting, he is usually by himself and if he gets a deer or an elk this would make it easier for him to haul it out or if he gets hurt or anything, it would make it quicker for him to get back out of the woods. I honestly think it's a good thing for my dad and he is so excited to have gotten a new toy! He took Alex for a ride on it and then of course my mom and I and John all wanted to ride too!
I have two beautiful baby boys, one who watches over us from Heaven and one who is here with me on Earth. My babies are my life and they will always be #1. I'm currently going to school to become an RN for a NICU.
