March For Babies, 2009

Well we did March of Dimes, March for Babies again this year... kind of. I only raised about $230 but the way I see it, every penny counts! It was pretty cold the day we did the walk, and it was raining a bit too. Alex was miserable from the minute we got there. We let him slide down one of the blow up slides a few times and tried to get him to eat and be happy in his stroller, but he wasn't going for it. Finally we (Amanda and I) decided to just head home. We stayed long enough to start the walk but shortly after we started, we veered the other way back to the car.

Since Alex and Elizabeth's birthdays are so close together, my mom decided to have a birthday party for both of them at her house. It was mostly just a barbecue where everyone ate and hung out. Alex got way too many presents. He got a bubble lawn mower, legos, letter blocks, trucks, clothes, a soccer ball, more tools, and lots more that I can't seem to remember right now. We had a big cake for Alex and Elizabeth and for everyone to eat. Then we had a little cake so Elizabeth could smash it and make a mess with it... which she did.

OK, I've had this post up for a while and I'm just now realizing I should probably explain it. Alex is scared of the vacuum, but of course I have to clean once in a while! I tipped the couch back one night to clean under it and also to get all the toys out of it that he had pushed down into it. I started vacuuming and Alex immediately ran. After a few minutes, I stopped vacuuming but I couldn't find Alex. I walked around the house looking for him and he was hiding behind the couch reading books! I laughed and continued cleaning. As soon as the vacuum went on, he ran again. So when I was finished vacuuming, I found him behind the couch reading again, and of course I had to take pictures!
