Lately Alex has been climbing on things at day care and on the table at home and he can finally climb on and off the couch. The problem is he will climb up and down and up and down and when I tell him to stop he doesn't understand or he doesn't listen because he continues doing it! LOL
Alex had his surgery this morning. We were supposed to be there at 7:15 to check in and the surgery wasn't until 8:45. Well, we woke up late and got to the hospital around 7:45. He still got in for his surgery by 8:40 and was done by 9. It was super quick. He woke up really fussy and unhappy but because he was only on an anisthetic and not a sedative, he was able to eat and drink immediately afterwards. He is so much happier already. I think he can hear himself better now because he was talking a lot and making a lot of noises within an hour after the surgery. The pictures below were taken about half an hour after we got home and they show just how good he's doing already.
When we were in Texas in June, my dad cut Alex's hair a little bit because it was getting out of control. The only problem was we though Alex would be afraid of the sound of the electric clippers so we didn't use them and he wiggled a lot so it was hard for my dad to do the full cut. Well, my sister's boyfriend cuts hair so he offered to give Alex his second hair cut. He used the electric clippers and Alex did fine! He actually did really well! He didn't mind having his hair cut and I was pretty shocked. We probably took off about 2 or 3 inches of hair. It was still difficult to do because he moved around and wanted to play a lot but we got it done and now he looks great!
We went to dinner as a family tonight (Me, Alex, Mom, Dad, Michelle, Elizabeth, Mike (Michelle's boyfriend), Uncle Cliff, Uncle Brian and John) at Rodizio Grill and then we went to the fair. It was pretty fun to be able to get out of the house with the family but Alex was pretty cranky which of course meant I was cranky so him and I ended up leaving a little earlier than everyone else. Overall though, we had a decent time. We even had the people at Rodizio Grill sing happy birthday to Mom!
My washing machine at my house broke about 2 weeks ago and my dad came over to fix it for me. As soon as he tipped the washing machine back so he could get under it, Alex crawled underneath and looked inside (Don't worry, Dad saw him there and knew to be careful!) Well I handed Alex a little wrench and he put it up inside the washing machine and tried to fix it! It was so cute. When my Dad was working on the washing machine, Alex was down there the whole time helping. He loves his Grandpa so much! I'm glad he has such a good role model too!
I have two beautiful baby boys, one who watches over us from Heaven and one who is here with me on Earth. My babies are my life and they will always be #1. I'm currently going to school to become an RN for a NICU.
