Alex's first (and second) trip to the Zoo

Last week a friend told me that she and her husband had free tickets to the zoo from his job and they wanted us to come. Then Alex's Grandma (his "father's" mom) said that she wanted to take us to the zoo on Tuesday so we went both Tuesday and Wednesday. On Monday night, Alex had a hard time going to bed so Tuesday was pretty rough for him and he was pretty cranky. It's probably a good thing we went again on Wednesday because he had a lot of fun and was able to be happy that day.

Grandpa got a new toy!

My dad finally talked my mom into letting him buy a 4 wheeler. I really think he needs it because when he goes hunting, he is usually by himself and if he gets a deer or an elk this would make it easier for him to haul it out or if he gets hurt or anything, it would make it quicker for him to get back out of the woods. I honestly think it's a good thing for my dad and he is so excited to have gotten a new toy! He took Alex for a ride on it and then of course my mom and I and John all wanted to ride too!

Alex's tests

Alex had his MRI and EEG on Monday, July 7th. He did really well for both tests but boy, was it a long day. He had to be sleep deprived for the EEG and food deprived for the MRI. The sedation medicine for the MRI didn't put him to sleep like it was supposed to so he had to have a second dose and that made the next day hard too. I forgot to bring my camera and the only time I took pictures the lights were off, so I took pictures of the computer screen which was also video taping Alex while the tests were done. I got the best pictures I could.

I got the results for the MRI today and it was normal. I'm still waiting on results from the EEG but they said that can take about a week usually.

Alex is mobile...

So Alex now climbs and crawls on EVERYTHING. Yes, he's been crawling for about a month and a half now, but he's speedy and he is climbing all over stuff now. It's fun to watch but scary at the same time.

Alex's first word is "Dog"???

Alex seems to love playing with my dog, my mom's dogs, my friends dogs. Today at my mom's house, he looked up at Rocky through the window and he kept saying something and my mom said "I think he's saying Dog." Well when we went swimming, Kristy had her dogs there and Alex kept following them around saying something that sounded just like "Dog". He won't even say mom, but he says "Dog"??? LOL I really don't know why these pictures are sideways... they weren't like that when I uploaded them so I don't know what happened....

Alex loves swimming!

So when Alex was about a month old and still in the hospital and everything, I decided to buy him a little swimming pool. I knew that he wouldn't be able to use it for his first summer but I figured he could use it this summer. Last weekend I finally blew it up and let him play and he had a blast....

However, he went to Grandma Toni's house tonight and got to swim in a big pool and I think Alex has found his new favorite pass time....
