My cereal boy!

Alex eats Lucky Charms on the weekends for breakfast. Of course, he only eats the marshmallows. Well this morning, he started sticking his face on his tray into the rest of the cereal. The cereal would stick to his face and he would look at me and laugh. This one piece on his forehead stuck for about 15 minutes! I just thought it was so funny, I had to get a picture.

Alex's first snow day

Well it snowed all weekend so I finally decided to let Alex come out and play. I bundled him up real warm and I didn't have snow pants for him so he just got to wear lots of layers. When we got out there, he didn't really know how to react. But he finally sat down in the snow and started playing in it. Unfortunately, he face planted right into the snow and after that he was freezing. He still had fun but I couldn't keep him out too long because he gets sick easily as it is so I didn't want to risk it. But I got lots of good pictures!

Alex's Christmas Program

Alex had a Christmas Program with his day care. Now honestly, I don't know why the kids his age were in the Program because most of them can't talk yet, let alone sing. It was cute and fun to watch though. Alex was not too into it because he was already tired and cranky. As you can see in the pictures he got pretty fussy. He even got up and tried to walk off the stage at one point! Once they brought him back to his mom, he was happy again, for the most part at least.

Christmas Pictures

Alex was in a pretty good mood tonight and I've been wanting to get some Christmas pictures done for a while so I took advantage of him being happy. I went a little camera crazy and took a bunch of different pictures, made him change clothes and everything! It was fun though and here are samples of the pictures I got.

Alex walks!

On November 1st, Alex took his first steps. He wasn't too into it that day but a few days later, when we were in Kansas, he started walking more. Now he walks a lot on his own. He even started dancing to a song the other day and it was the cutest thing. It was the song "Kung Fu Fighting" and my mom told her friend, Jolene about it so the next day Jolene and her daughter Kira found a card that plays that song! I played it for Alex and after a minute he started opening the card himself and walking around while kicking and saying "huh!" It was cute. This will be the first video I've posted on here so we'll see if it works. LOL

Halloween 2008

Unfortunately this year both Alex and I were sick on Halloween. We have strep so we couldn't do a whole lot. Alex was really grumpy all day and didn't even want to be in his costume. I got him in it long enough to get pictures but that was about it. He was a cute doggy this year (Thanks to Aunt Jen for buying the costume!)

Getting closer..

Alex is getting closer to walking. He has a Winnie the Pooh toy that kids can sit on or they can hold onto the back and push it while walking behind it. Alex usually just plays with the airplane propeller on it or he sits on it sometimes. Today he started pushing it around my house in circles while standing on his knees.

Then he suddenly came around the corner and he was standing up and walking with the toy!!! I was kind of in shock and really excited. He still won't walk on his own but hopefully this is a sign that he's almost there!

Silly sleeper

Lately, when I give Alex his bedtime bottle he puts it in his mouth and holds it with his teeth while he crawls to the couch. He climbs onto the couch and then either lays there or sits there to drink it. However, once he gets tired, he is OUT usually. These pictures were taken on three different nights but they're all him sleeping on the couch after having his bottle... Or WHILE having his bottle!

My little climber!

Lately Alex has been climbing on things at day care and on the table at home and he can finally climb on and off the couch. The problem is he will climb up and down and up and down and when I tell him to stop he doesn't understand or he doesn't listen because he continues doing it! LOL

Alex's ear tubes

Alex had his surgery this morning. We were supposed to be there at 7:15 to check in and the surgery wasn't until 8:45. Well, we woke up late and got to the hospital around 7:45. He still got in for his surgery by 8:40 and was done by 9. It was super quick. He woke up really fussy and unhappy but because he was only on an anisthetic and not a sedative, he was able to eat and drink immediately afterwards. He is so much happier already. I think he can hear himself better now because he was talking a lot and making a lot of noises within an hour after the surgery. The pictures below were taken about half an hour after we got home and they show just how good he's doing already.

Alex's second haircut

When we were in Texas in June, my dad cut Alex's hair a little bit because it was getting out of control. The only problem was we though Alex would be afraid of the sound of the electric clippers so we didn't use them and he wiggled a lot so it was hard for my dad to do the full cut. Well, my sister's boyfriend cuts hair so he offered to give Alex his second hair cut. He used the electric clippers and Alex did fine! He actually did really well! He didn't mind having his hair cut and I was pretty shocked. We probably took off about 2 or 3 inches of hair. It was still difficult to do because he moved around and wanted to play a lot but we got it done and now he looks great!

Utah State Fair

We went to dinner as a family tonight (Me, Alex, Mom, Dad, Michelle, Elizabeth, Mike (Michelle's boyfriend), Uncle Cliff, Uncle Brian and John) at Rodizio Grill and then we went to the fair. It was pretty fun to be able to get out of the house with the family but Alex was pretty cranky which of course meant I was cranky so him and I ended up leaving a little earlier than everyone else. Overall though, we had a decent time. We even had the people at Rodizio Grill sing happy birthday to Mom!
